Respond to a Wrong Way Driver Alert

The ATMS will notify you with both an audible alert and a notification when a Wrong Way Driver is reported by BlinkLink. The icon for the station that reported the Wrong Way Driver will also flash on the map.

To view the details of the Wrong Way Driver alert, click View Alert on the Wrong Way Driver notification or right click on the station icon on the map and select View Alert.

The alert includes pictures provided by the detection station, which can be used to verify whether the alert represents a Wrong Way Driver or a false alarm. To browse through the pictures, use the arrow icons on the right and left side of the image, or wait for the images to change automatically. Arrows on both the pictures and the alert window indicate the expected direction of traffic.

Create a Wrong Way Driver Event from Alert

To confirm that the alert represents a Wrong Way Driver and automatically create a Wrong Way Driver event, select 'Wrong Way Vehicle' from the Resolution list, optionally enter a note, and click Resolve. The ATMS creates a new Wrong Way Driver event at the point the driver entered the mainline roadway in the wrong direction, and opens the Wrong Way Driver event details window. You can manage this event and its response plan like any other event on the roadway.

Reject a Wrong Way Driver Alert

To reject a Wrong Way Driver alert and indicate that it was a false alarm, select any resolution that is not 'Wrong Way Vehicle' from the Resolution list, optionally enter a note, and click Resolve.
